However, there is one more efficient solution to this problem of yours if you are not planning to invest in a kitchen cart for now, which is a Stainless Kitchen Island. A stainless kitchen island can act as more than just a serving table used to transport cooked dishes from the kitchen to the dining room. They have enormous uses, especially in the kitchen where they can be utilized as an additional space for keeping, cutting or mixing ingredients and even storing your cooked meals.
Having a second sink is very practical so adding a sink on the island is a good option for your kitchen design. Or if you want, you may also put a chiller for your wine or a small fridge for a more modern look. You may also put chairs or stools beside the island so that you can have a little chit chat with your friends or family while you are preparing the food or even make it as a second dining area. There are a few possible ways that you can do on your kitchen island, just be sure in what you want.
There are some cons of having a kitchen island. The largest one is expense. Placing a permanent kitchen island with running water and electric as many of the islands have can be extremely expensive. If one is doing a kitchen remodel, adding the electric or gas line to an island during a remodel can cost a tremendous amount of extra money. Even without electric, gas, or water, the cost of a stationary island can run into several thousand dollars, which might be better used elsewhere.
There are certainly many pros to having a kitchen island. The first pro we will look at is that of extra counter space. Having resided in homes where counter space was at a minimum, the kitchen island was a life saver when cooking for larger gatherings. The second pro would be extra storage space. Who doesn‘t need extra storage space in a kitchen? One kitchen owned was so small the laundry room next to the kitchen wound up being turned into a pantry as there was next to no storage in the kitchen.
These tips are great to consider when designing a kitchen island, but it is always OK to stray away from these tips in order to create a personalized piece for your space. Consider your type of lifestyle and the goals for your kitchen space then go from there! It is important to consider the costs you are willing to spend on this new kitchen addition, as well as creating a cohesive and functional design. Most importantly, have fun when designing this new piece and you won‘t go wrong.
